Preamble
We, the students of Bothell High School, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, and student activities, establish this Constitution for the general welfare of the students of the BHS Robotics Club.
About Us
The governing document of the BHS Robotics Club.
We, the students of Bothell High School, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, and student activities, establish this Constitution for the general welfare of the students of the BHS Robotics Club.
It is resolved that the name of this organization shall be the BHS Robotics Club of Bothell High School.
The purposes of this organization shall be to:
Promote science and technology in Bothell High School and the surrounding community through student and community programs involving engineering and other technical skills.
The mission of the Bothell Robotics Club is to excite and motivate students to pursue careers in science, engineering, and technology, and to develop leadership, business, and life skills. Like Dean Kamen, founder of the FIRST Robotics Competition, we strive to "see a world where science and technology are celebrated, where kids think science is cool and dream of becoming technology heroes."
Membership is established by paying the ASB fee and the Robotics Club fee. Once the student has paid these fees, and if the student meets all current rules and regulations for participating in extracurricular activities, is not suspended or expelled from the Bothell Robotics Club, and meets any additional requirements outlined in the By-laws, the student shall be admitted into the Bothell Robotics Club.
Membership is maintained by regular attendance at club meetings, and members must remain enrolled at Bothell High School.
The Bothell Robotics Club may collect membership dues in a manner consistent with ASB Club Policies and as detailed in the By-Laws.
The Bothell Robotics Club may award Varsity Letters or graduation cords to students in a manner consistent with ASB Club Policies and as detailed in the By-Laws.
This Constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership, provided proper notice is given to the membership beforehand.
If the Bothell Robotics Club is ever dissolved and there are remaining moneys in the account, the Club funds would revert to the school's Associated Student Body general account. Guidance for dissolution is per the school's Associated Student Body Constitution.
All records of the Club and Club Minutes shall be kept in a safe and central location, never to be destroyed, and per applicable state laws regarding retention may be sent to the state archives.
